Course Outline

Module 1: Overview & Architecture

Understand the Dynamics 365 ecosystem and the primary components of the Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (FO) software. Examine the architecture of D365FO, along with key design and deployment considerations relevant to the platform.

Module 2: Developer Tools

Manage system implementations using Lifecycle Services. Customize D365FO through Visual Studio, manage source code and artifacts via version control, and utilize other development tools to complete tasks efficiently.

Module 3: Solution Design

Identify necessary application stack components and server architecture. Implement Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and design a comprehensive solution for D365FO.

Module 4: AOT Elements

Develop forms, create and extend tables, and define Extended Data Types (EDT) and enumerations. Additionally, create classes and extend existing AOT elements.

Module 5: Code Development & Testing

Write X++ code and develop object-oriented structures. Extend D365 FO functionality while understanding the test framework and tools, and execute unit testing procedures.

Module 6: Data Migration

Review migration tools and methodologies to plan a strategic approach. Prepare data for the migration process and perform data lab activities involving Data Export/Import using Data Entities.

Module 7: Frameworks

Implement core D365 FO functionality utilizing established frameworks.

Module 8: Integration

Recognize data integration patterns and scenarios, and implement integration concepts and solutions. Manage recurring integrations, connect D365FO with Microsoft Azure, troubleshoot integration issues, and utilize the Data Management Package API.

Module 9: Reporting

Assess the capabilities and limitations of reporting tools within D365FO. Design, create, and refine Dynamics Reports and workspaces, as well as data sources that connect to external data stores.

Module 10: Security & Performance

Describe and apply performance tools and LCS Environment Monitoring utilities. Enforce role-based security policies, apply fundamental performance optimization techniques, and optimize batch processes, user interfaces, integrations, and reporting performance. Conclude with a lab on Async & Sandbox Functionality.
