This course will explain how to use SysML, the modelling language for systems engineering. You will discover in particular the block diagrams for the structural modelling of complex systems. You will deepen your understanding of the sequence diagram, the state diagram and the activity diagram for dynamic modelling. You will also learn how to use specific SysML diagrams such as the requirements diagram and the parametric diagram, as well as the concept of allocation. We will also emphasize the need to define a modelling approach, adapted to the company context and the type of system to be studied. Practical work will be carried out using the Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw) modelling tool from NoMagic.

Domain-Driven Design (DDD) is a robust software development methodology that emphasizes modelling intricate business behaviours by harmonising technical execution with fundamental business principles. This course examines how DDD assists teams in managing complexity and mitigating risk via strategic and tactical patterns. Participants will acquire the skills to establish a "Ubiquitous Language," delineate precise boundaries using Bounded Contexts, and apply specific structural elements such as Entities, Value Objects, and Aggregates. The objective is to construct adaptable and maintainable software architectures that stay aligned with the dynamic business domain.

Through a blend of lectures, demonstrations, and interactive labs, this course illustrates the foundations for creating and sustaining an Enterprise Architecture (EA) using the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) version 1.2.

This instructor-led, live training is aimed at beginner-level engineers and professionals who wish to use MBPLE within CATIA Magic to understand and implement product line engineering concepts.

The OCSMP Model Builder – Fundamental examination evaluates the knowledge and skills necessary to construct a basic SysML model of a system. The examination covers model concepts and organisation, basic requirements capture and management, structure and behavior models, parametric models, allocation relationships, and use of stereotypes. Using the knowledge and skills covered at this level plus familiarity with a suitable SysML modeling tool, a holder of the OCSMP Model Builder – Fundamental Certification should be a productive contributor to modeling tasks performed by a Systems Engineering team employing a model-based systems engineering approach using SysML. The OCSMP Model Builder – Fundamental Certification is a prerequisite for the program’s two higher levels, and requires the OCSMP Model User Certification as its prerequisite.

This examination (as well as the others in the OCSMP series) tests your ability to apply the knowledge and skills listed here in the context of a model of a system. As you study, go beyond each individual diagram to understand how aspects that it models can influence or affect aspects of the system represented in other diagram types.
